When Woody Guthrie died back in 1967 he left behind hundreds of half finished songs - all lyrics with no music. 30 years later, Billy Bragg and Wilco took up the monumental task of completing these works. In that same spirit, 20 years after it was written, someone has finally stepped up and completed the ALF theme song. For many of us in the mid to late 80’s the lilting timbre of the saxophone was enough to get the point across: An alien landed in the suburbs, he’s reasonably articulate, he likes to eat cats. Try watching the theme today without lyrics, however, and you will probably find yourself lost. God willing, if this man gets the attention he deserves he will finally be able to afford some different picture frames for his wall.
